Chiric sanango | Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow | Brunfelsia grandiflora

Brunfelsia grandiflora is a beautiful flowering shrub in the Solanaceae/Nightshade family coming to us from the Amazon. It produces purple blooms that incrementally fade into light purple, then white, becoming translucent as they falls to the forest floor. This plant became widely known due to the beloved ethnobotanist Richard Evan Schultes "discovery" of it in Northern Colombia being used ceremonially by the Putumayo tribe. In its native regions, Chiric sanango is used to treat an amazing amount of physical conditions like colds/flu, chronic pain, rheumatism, arthritis and venereal diseases. It can be quite dangerous to work with, and it is not advised to do so.

However, when we work with essences of poisonous plants, we aren't taking in the physical constituents, but the energetic.

Chiric sanango flower essence may call you to change your outlook, especially if you have been in a state of rigidity or stagnancy. Are you ready to work with emotions that have been ignored, stifled, or difficult to process? This essence may call in rapid change and ask you to come into deeper embodiment. Think, transformation.
Chiric sanango may offer a new perspective on the past, a shift into how we orient in the present moment, perhaps insights into the future. This essence seems to bring up past events in our lives that we might need to change our relationship to, offering us clarity of an altered vantage point.

Working with Flower Essences is a call for personal ritual. Create a time of intentional interaction with these Essences. For example, try to curate your schedule to where you can have a moment of stillness to invite the essences into your body. It’s best to not be dropping these emotional allies into your mouth while running out of the door, watching tv, tackling your to-do list. Instead, try to take even just 5-10 minutes to really be with the essence in stillness. Having a journal to log what comes up for you can be really helpful. Taking flower essences right before bed invites the flowers to communicate through dreams, so track your nighttime adventures in your journal too. Taking a flower essence with the intention of being creative can be really revealing as well!

Dosage recommendation is 4 drops 4 x / day, or how ever you feel fitting for your situation.
